Welcome to the Franklin Elemenatary PTSA!
WHY DO WE NEED A PTSA AT FRANKLIN???
During the last school year, the Franklin PTSA (Parent Teacher Student Association) accomplished many things. With the involvement of great volunteers and the support of our parents, teachers, and staff, we:
- funded transportation for field trips
- supported our teachers with food and snacks during conference weeks
- hosted a family potluck dinner in November
- honored our staff on Custodian’s Day, Secretary’s Day, Principal’s Day, School Nurses’ Day, and Teacher Appreciation Week
- provided snacks for all students during ITBS and water for all during “Go the Distance Day”
- granted “wish list” requests from teachers
- hosted an exciting Family Science Night in January
- offered t-shirts and sweatshirts for sale to show our school spirit
- honored students by listing their birthdays on the Birthday Board
- provided free child care during meetings so that all parents would be able to attend
- supported ill and grieving families during times of illness or death with Franklin Cares
- raised money for our PTSA programs and responsibly handled the paperwork & funds
- kept accurate records of meetings and correspondence
- learned more about our teachers & classroom activities through “Meet the Teachers”
- coordinated volunteers for classrooms and for all PTSA activities and school needs
- provided an interpreter at meetings so we could include all families
- helped arrange picture day and helped the schedule move quickly
- collected and processed Box Tops and Milk Moola caps, raising money for our school
- compiled school photos and classroom pictures into a memorable yearbook
