Tennis

The Marshalltown girls’ tennis team went undefeated in Iowa Alliance Conference play this spring, and the all-conference teams were a direct reflection of that.

Bobcat seniors Rebekah Downs and Ava Lucas and junior Kennedy Feldman all were named to the all-Iowa Alliance Conference’s North Division first team, while senior Claire Bohan and junior Lily Zahnd garnered second-team honors.

Marshalltown’s 15-3 overall dual record included an 8-0 mark in Iowa Alliance Conference play and a 3-0 record against North Division competition.

Downs went 8-6 individually at the No. 1 singles position, while Feldman finished 12-2 at No. 2. Lucas also posted a 12-2 mark at the No. 3 spot.

Downs and Feldman became the first Bobcat doubles team to advance to state since 1985 and finished the spring with a 14-5 record together.

Bohan’s singles record at No. 4 was 11-3, while Zahnd, a West Marshall prep, was 10-3 at No. 5.

Marshalltown occupied five of the 14 all-conference spots for the four-team division. Waterloo East didn’t field a team.
