DES MOINES — The Marshalltown girls’ swimming team won all 11 events and demolished Des Moines East 107-62 in Tuesday’s Iowa Alliance Conference dual meet.

The Bobcats kicked off the meet with a narrow victory in the 200-yard medley relay, beating the Scarlets by 54-hundreths of a second. The MHS foursome of Leia Hernandez, Adele Beek, Libby Meyer and Morgan Bear clocked in at 2 minutes, 12.17 seconds.

Drea Ceren scored a 10-second triumph in the 200-yard freestyle, winning in 2:16.31, and Beek won by more than nine seconds in the 200 individual medley (2:33.34). Hernandez comfortably topped the field in the 50 freestyle (25.62), and Emma Case won the 100 butterfly (1:09.65) by more than two seconds.

Maisie Gummert beat Ceren to the wall in the 100 freestyle (59.79), and Hernandez won the 500 freestyle by more than one minute (6:00.88). The 200 freestyle relay squad of Emma Case, Ceren, Beek and Rachel Case clocked in at 1:53.28 to beat East by nearly 20 seconds. Emma Case won the 100 backstroke (1:10.65) and Beek led the 100 breaststroke field to the wall (1:15.02) by more than seven seconds.

Hernandez, Ceren, Meyer and Gummert won the 400 freestyle relay by 21 seconds.
