DES MOINES — A pair of juniors rolled season-best games and the Marshalltown boys’ bowling team blasted Des Moines East for an Iowa Alliance Conference win on Monday night at Bowlerama Lanes.

Gage Grieves rolled a 258 and defending state champion Aiden Cowan had a 256 that led the Bobcats to the conference win, 2,941-2,417.

Cowan finished with the team-leading series of 427, while Grieves was just behind with a 423 for Marshalltown. Carter McCready (393), Porter Niedermann (378) and Jayden Beichley (366) rounded out the individual scoring for the Bobcats.

On the girls’ side, Des Moines East eked out a 2,247-2,117 victory over Marshalltown. The host Scarlets held a narrow lead after individual play, 1,415-1,364, but opened it up with some solid Baker rounds.

Camillya Thomas led the Bobcats with a 169 game and a 317 series. Devin Peterson rolled a 278 series, Sydney May shot a 270, Ariana Villagomez had a 251, and Kenedy Lammert added a 248.

Rileigh Schillinger led Des Moines East with a 215 game and a 407 series.

The Bobcat bowling teams return to Wayward Social on Thursday for a home dual against West Des Moines Valley.
