INDIANOLA — The Marshalltown boys’ swimming team closed the regular season with a 90-75 victory over Indianola on Tuesday at the Indianola Wellness Campus.

Charlie Gilbertson and Sam Greazel both were a part of three event victories for the Bobcats, who claimed eight of the 11 races in the meet.

Gilbertson and Greazel teamed up to bring home the dual victory as part of the final event, the 400-yard freestyle relay. Gilbertson, Greazel, Hayden Daters and Aaron Hunter posted the low time of 3:47.40 to finish on top.

Gilbertson also swam with Landon Stanley, Parker Christen and Michael Lechnir as part of the triumphant 200 medley relay, which clocked in with a winning time of 1:52.32 to open the meet.

Gilbertson won the second race — the 200 freestyle — in 2:03.16.

Greazel claimed the fourth race — the 100 butterfly — in 1:00.42, and teamed with Lincoln Barker, Isaac Seberger and Daters to win the 200 free relay.

Other individual event victories were delivered by Jacob Seberger in the 200 individual medley (2:19.33), Lechnir in the 100 freestyle (53.92), and Barker in the 100 backstroke (1:05.61).

Marshalltown looks toward the postseason with its district meet scheduled for noon on Saturday, Feb. 8, at Ames High School.
