The Marshalltown Community School District (MCSD) has announced that Friday, June 6, 2025, will be added as a student attendance day and serve as the final day of the 2024–25 school year.
While this school year brought a typical number of weather-related cancellations, the district began the year later than usual due to the high school construction project. The added day is intended to provide additional instructional time and ensure students finish the year strong.
“The start of our school year was adjusted to accommodate construction at Marshalltown High School, which slightly reduced the overall number of student contact days,” said Dr. Theron Schutte, Superintendent of Schools. “By adding this make-up day, we’re reinforcing our commitment to quality learning time for students.”
MCSD recognizes the change may impact some family plans and appreciates the community’s understanding and continued support.
Families with questions are encouraged to contact their student’s school office directly.
